Two new senior appointments have been made at SLC Rail as Ashley Gierth and Mark Finney join the company.
Ashley Gierth joins SLC Rail from Geobear Infrastructure, where he was the UK rail director, to take on the role of head of programme controls. He brings with him a wealth of experience, gained while working for Van Elle Rail, AMCO, Carillion Rail, Balfour Beatty, Jarvis Rail and John Laing.
Mark Finney comes in as HSEQ (health, safety, environment and quality) manager. His previous post was with West Midlands Trains, where he was interim property manager for depots, but before that he has held safety roles at Merseyrail and at wind turbine manufacturer Siemens Gamesa.
Ian Walters, SLC Rail managing director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ashley and Mark to SLC Rail’s senior leadership team. Both bring a huge amount of experience from working, not just in rail, but also a range of other sectors.
“Ashley is going to be key to supporting business growth through further developing our controls and processes, while Mark’s full experience will ensure the delivery of industry-leading health and safety systems.”
This move comes after SLC Rail was recently awarded three internationally recognised ISO accreditations.
