SLC Rail, which specialises in developing third-party rail schemes, has been awarded three internationally recognised ISO accreditations.
Following an audit by Alcumus ISOQAR, SLC Rail has achieved accreditation for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, as well as reaccreditation for the ISO 9001 standard.
ISO 14001 is the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS), ISO 45001 is the latest international standard for occupational health and safety management, while ISO 9001 is the International standard for Quality Management Systems, replacing the old BS 5750 part 1.
In order to achieve this accreditation, and meet the high standards required, SLC Rail worked with health and safety strategic partner Gateway Consultants to lead and support behaviour and cultural changes.
Ian Walters, SLC Rail managing director, said: “We’re delighted to have received this recognition for our commitment to quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems.
“Receiving these accreditations is a testament to the work put in by everyone across the organisation to consistently implement our procedures and processes and look for ways to continuously improve.”
Dr Shelley Stiles, partner at Gateway Consultants, who has worked in health and safety management across both the public and private sectors for nearly 20 years, added: “It’s been great to be part of SLC’s journey and witness, across the business, a passion for achieving the highest possible standards.
“It’s fantastic to see a company with a desire to continuously improve itself for the betterment of the business and its clients.”
