David Sanders, a former rail industry executive who was recently made redundant after 20 years in PR and marketing, including several years spent as stakeholder and publicity manager for Docklands Light Railway, has set up his own PR agency to help those in the sector recover from the lockdown.
His new agency, PR42, so named as that is David’s age, offers a raft of services including a ‘no coverage, no fee’ option. For anyone who takes advantage of this offer, there will be no payment due to PR42 unless press coverage is published in pre-agreed media.
The agency “aims to be as flexible as possible” and offers other services, including media liaison, event management, copywriting and crisis communications. It can additionally be hired for longer periods of time – on a contract basis for one-off events and projects, or by the day.
Another offering is a PR ‘Power Hour’, when a consultant will give feedback and ideas on a business’ new or existing publicity plans in a shorter, 60-minute session.
David said: “Having recently been made redundant, I fully appreciate how difficult the current situation is for everyone in rail and was determined to do something positive in return.
“Given the devastating effects of COVID-19, we’re aiming to be as flexible as possible in terms of both what we offer and the prices we charge. We thought the ‘no coverage, no fee’ option would be particularly appealing at this time, as it’s a risk-free choice for those who select it. If we get press coverage for a rail business, then their profile and bottom line get a boost – if we don’t, then there’s no cost to them.”
