Network Rail signs three-year deal with 3Squared

Network Rail will use 3Squared's RailSmart Competency Management Solution for at least three years.

Network Rail has signed a three-year contract with Sheffield-based digital technology consultancy 3Squared, with an option to extend for 10 years, for the supply of its RailSmart Competency Management Solution.

One of 3Squared’s largest partnerships to date, the deal will see Britain’s track and infrastructure owner use this new technology to help proactively manage and improve the capabilities of its operational staff.

3Squared’s Competency Management Solution contains a number of modules for Network Rail to access These include:

  • Training and assessment – supporting the continuous monitoring and improvements of employee competencies;
  • Candidate overview – offering improved visibility of employee competency data, including medicals, incidents, support plans and previous assessments;
  • Reporting module – providing business insight and better visibility of the company’s current competency position.

The solution will first be  deployed in the North West and Central region. Other regions are then to follow, depending on the successful outcome of the initial deployment.
