West Midlands: Fallen tree closes line between Lichfield and Birmingham

A fallen tree at Wylde Green has closed the line between Lichfield and Birmingham.

A fallen tree at Wylde Green has blocked the line and brought down overhead cables between Lichfield Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street. As a result, no trains are running on the Cross City North line on Thursday 11 March.

Network Rail is attending and will need to remove the tree before assessing the damage to the overhead power cables and begin repairs. Disruption to train services is expected to last all day.

Local buses are accepting train tickets between Birmingham New Street and Sutton Coldfield and there are bus replacement services from Sutton Coldfield to Lichfield Trent Valley.
