VTG Rail appoints Matt Hannant as Head of Sales and Marketing

Matt Hannant has been appointed Head of Sales and Marketing at VTG Rail UK.

The UK’s largest private rail freight wagon hire company, VTG Rail, has appointed Matt Hannant as its new Head of Sales and Marketing.

Matt is 43 and joins VTG from the water and lighting sectors. He takes over the role from Marc Hurn, who was promoted to become the company’s managing director in April.

Matt Hannant commented on his appointment: “I was attracted to VTG as they have a great reputation for being a successful, forward-thinking business and also as a good company to work for. I’m excited about VTG’s current market position in terms of providing high quality, its strong focus on service delivery and on product development, which will ensure its successful long-term future.

“I’m joining a winning team and I’m looking to add value, continually support the company and to bring close communication across all departments. I have stepped in to lead a young and talented team and there are real opportunities for me to share my knowledge, learn new skills and become part of a hugely successful sales and marketing department.”

VTG Rail UK, which has a fleet of over 4, 000 wagon, is part of the VTG Group – the European leader for private sector wagon leasing with approximately 94,000 wagons in its fleet, the largest in Europe.

Matt, married with a 14-year-old daughter and a six-year-old son, enjoys playing a wide range of sports and road running.
