Supply-chain solutions company Unipart has appointed Andy Pyne as chief sustainability officer, reporting to chief executive officer Darren Leigh.
As a member of the executive leadership team, Andy will responsible for setting and delivering Unipart’s strategies for sustainability, facilities, security, and health and safety.
Andy joined Unipart more than 25 years ago and has worked across Unipart’s sectors in the logistics business in a number of leadership roles. Most recently Andy held a senior operations director role alongside a sustainability focus. Now he becomes the full-time chief sustainability officer.
In 2023, Andy spearheaded Unipart’s validation of ambitious near-term and net-zero targets by the Science Based Targets initiative. In the same year, Unipart became the first organisation ever to be recognised with a world-class safety, wellbeing and sustainability ‘treble’ by the British Safety Council in 2023.
Unipart chief executive officer Darren Leigh said: “Unipart has made a commitment to be net zero by 2040 which will require increased leadership and focus, therefore I’m delighted to appoint Andy Pyne as full-time chief sustainability officer. Andy will work across all areas of Unipart delivering synergies, economies of scale and efficiencies.
