The digital displays, designed to give travellers interactive details about trains and services, can be found in stations across TPE’s network.

TPE customer service and operations director Kathryn O’Brien explained: “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and the introduction of 13 new languages on our screens will provide a more inclusive and accessible environment for all of our customers.

“We recognise that language barriers can be a significant challenge and there are a lot of customers for whom English is not their first language. We want to do everything we can to make their journey as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

“Using data from the Office for National Statistics, we were able to determine the most common languages used by people along our network and look forward to being able to provide updates for customers in myriad of languages, from Polish to Punjabi.”
