InnoTrans postponed until September 2022

InnoTrans has cancelled its date in April 2021 and will now take place in Berlin during September 2022.

The world’s major railway industry exhibition, InnoTrans, has been postponed for a second time and will now take place from 20 to 23 September 2022 in Berlin, Germany.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was moved from September 2020 until April 2021, but that has now been cancelled too. InnoTrans will therefore take place on its regular dates, during the third week of September 2022.

Dr Christian Göke, chief executive officer of exhibition organiser Messe Berlin, explained: “The decision to postpone InnoTrans until 2022 was very difficult. Ultimately, the decisive factors were a lack of planning certainty and the forecast for the pandemic in the months to come.

“In the current situation, no one can predict with sufficient certainty whether the overall conditions will permit the use of our rail track display in April 2021, for example, and the holding of a leading international trade fair such as InnoTrans.”

The ability to display new trains on around 3,000 metres of track is part of what makes InnoTrans so popular.
