Stadler appoints new executive vice president for service

Daniel Baer is taking over as vice president for service at Stadler.

Swiss train manufacturer Stadler has announced that Daniel Baer will take over as executive vice president for responsible for service, following the announcement that current vice president Jürg Gygax will retire on 31 March 2021.

Daniel Baer joined Stadler in 2004 and has held several specialist and management positions within the service division. He previously worked for both ABB and Huber+Suhner and holds a master’s degree in engineering and management from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences and a degree in engineering from the ABB Technikerschule, based in Baden, Germany.

Jürg Gygax joined Stadler as a board member early in 2005 and, in 2013, took over responsibility for the service division, which, today, has approximately 1,300 employees in more than 19 countries.

After more than 15 years at Stadler, he has decided to withdraw from operational responsibility and to retire as of the end of March of 2021.

To enable a smooth handover, he will continue to support Stadler in a consulting role after his retirement.
