John Wilkinson appointed to Royal BAM Group board

John Wilkinson has joined Royal BAM Group as chief operating officer for civil engineering.

Royal BAM Group has announced that John (Jonathan) Wilkinson has been appointed as the new chief operating officer for the group’s civil engineering business.

He will be joining the Netherlands-based group from SNC-Lavalin, where he is president of infrastructure, and will take up his new post on 5 October 2020. The former managing director of May Gurney Rail and Facility Services, John has since held senior positions at Kier Group (which acquired May Gurney) and Laing O’Rourke.

John will be one of two chief operating officers on the BAM board – the other, Joost Nelis, is in charge of the construction and property business. Simon Finnie, also formerly with Kier and Laing O’Rourke, is chief business excellence officer while Sven Van de Wynkele is in charge of HR, Frans den Houter is chief financial officer and Ruud Joosten is Group CEO.
