Infrarail postponed!

Infrarail 2020 has been postponed and will run alongside Railtex 2021.

The latest victim of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is the UK’s Infrarail exhibition. Scheduled to be held at London’ Olympia on 12-14 May, it has been put back a year and will now be co-located with Railtex 2021 at the Birmingham NEC on 11-13 May.

This will mean that the UK’s leading showcase of railway infrastructure technology and expertise will now run alongside the nation’s premier exhibition of railway equipment, systems and services, giving visitors a great chance to see everything that’s new and interesting in the railway supply industry at the same time.

Both shows, Infrarail and Railtex, are organised by Mack Brooks Exhibitions, normally on alternate years. 2021 will be the first time that the shows have run side by side.

Mack Brooks managing director Nicola Hamann commented on the situation: “The health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and staff is our number one priority.

“After many weeks closely monitoring the evolving situation around COVID-19 and the notices issued by the World Health Organisation as well as Public Health England, the UK Government, the local authorities in London and in close coordination with all partners involved, we have decided to postpone the exhibition.

“This is not a decision we have taken lightly; our customers, partners and the Infrarail team worked incredibly hard on this event. While it is disappointing to postpone, it is imperative that we prioritise the health and safety of everyone involved.

“Our goal remains to provide the best customer value for everyone attending Infrarail by delivering a high-quality exhibition in 2021. We believe the decision to co-locate Infrarail with next year’s Railtex exhibition, with the help and support of our partners, will allow us to maximize the potential of both events, uniting the whole rail industry.”

Mack Brooks’ Infrarail team will communicate closely with exhibitors and partners over the coming weeks to work with them and make next year’s show one to remember.
