Quattro lifts Road Rail Cranes

Quattro Group has acquired the assets of Road Rail Cranes.

Rail plant-hire specialist Quattro Group has acquired the assets of Wrexham-based Road Rail Cranes.

The acquisition includes the fleet of road rail cranes – unique to the British and European markets – along with all their fleet support vehicles, trailers and ancillary equipment. This will add to the Quattro Group’s existing extensive rail fleet, located in 17 depots across the UK and Europe.

The majority of Road Rail Cranes’ staff will also move over to Quattro, and the cranes operation will continue to be run out of the current Road Rail Cranes Wrexham depot by the existing team, now overseen by Quattro Group area manager Trevor Hartnett.

Quattro will run the crane hire business from the former Road Rail Cranes site in Wrexham.
John Murphy, Quattro Group.

John Murphy, Quattro Group managing director, is pleased with the acquisition. “We are thrilled to add the new cranes to our rail fleet,” he said. “As part of our plans for CP6 and beyond, we have been focusing on the provision of exciting specialist equipment that works seamlessly alongside our ‘bread and butter’ plant, delivering innovative, tailored solutions that meet our customers every need.

“We have worked closely with the team at Road Rail Cranes Ltd, and are delighted to be able to protect both the fantastic workforce and the company’s outstanding reputation within the RRV market. As a group, we anticipate continuing to provide the same great service to their loyal customers for many years to come.”
