Multi-disciplinary services provider SW Global Resourcing (SWGR) has opened a new electrification office in Crewe to as the team gears up to provide isolation and OLE construction services around the rail network.
For the last 15 years, SWGR has successfully delivered isolation services across the UK under its isolation framework agreement with Network Rail, so it doesn’t require any mobilisation time in order to meet client demands. This has also enabled SWGR to carry out isolations, construction and maintenance for large contractors, including CPMS, BAM Nuttall, CPR, Amey Sersa and VolkerRail.
OLE isolation services that will be carried out by the Crewe team, headed by rail operations director Paul Cook, include isolation planning and delivery, height and stagger surveys, OLE bonding and minor repairs and adjustments. One of the management team – Paul Cook, operations manager Steve Farnell, operations manager (isolations) Craig Wright, isolations manager Asim Jani and engineering manager Richard Guwa – will be on call 24/7.
The SWGR team will also be able to offer full OLE construction packages, which additional can include construction and piling of foundations, the erection of OHL masts and booms, installation of small part steel, catenary and contact wire, the renewal and maintenance of OHL equipment as well as section proving, commissioning and handback.

The opening of the new office has resulted in a number of vacancies, all around the country, for staff skilled in OLE isolation and electrification construction activities.
