British Steel, the Scunthorpe-based producer which manufactures steel rails in both the UK and France, has announced it will be exhibiting at the Trako International Railway Fair, being held in Gdansk, Poland on 24-27 September 2019.
The troubled manufacturer is officially in liquidation, but the Official Receiver has announced it has received an “acceptable offer” from Turkey and discussions are continuing.
Putting this behind it, and conducting “business as usual”, British Steel will be in the UK pavilion at Hall A, Stand A03, demonstrating how its innovative rail products can help customers tackle common industry issues:
- Maintenance and repair times in urban systems – British Steel will be showcasing ML330, the advanced multi-life grooved rail with increased wear-resistance. Weld-restorable in track, ML330 offers multiple rail lives.
- Wear and foot fatigue – stress-free heat-treated rail range has exceptional resistance to wear and boasts the lowest residual stress available for reduced rolling contact- and foot-fatigue, so increasing life in track.
- Corrosion – for corrosive rail environments like coastal track, wet tunnels, level crossings and stray current environments, the Zinoco® durable rail corrosion protection system ensures maximum rail life
