Jeff Davies, former director of route asset management and safety for Network Rail’s Wales and Borders route, has been appointed managing director of Andromeda, a multi-disciplined design engineering company specialising in railway electrification.
Prior to joining the company as operations director in January 2019, Jeff was with Network Rail for 13 years. As DRAM, he led a team of asset managers, engineers and safety professionals and was accountable for the safety and performance of the route’s infrastructure – some 1,500 track miles, 3,000 bridges, 1,150 level crossings and 55 signal boxes. Maintenance, renewals and enhancements of these assets represented a spend of approximately £1.5 billion within Control Period 5.
Commenting on his appointment, Jeff Davies said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead Andromeda. Since joining I have had the privilege of working with a dedicated team and alongside them I am looking forward to continuing to deliver high quality engineering solutions, through innovation, collaboration and efficiency.”
Former managing director and founder of Andromeda Barry Lumley is to take up a new role as managing director of Andromeda International.
